The Future of GI Resistance

This panel will analyze the spectrum of resistance within the military today and lay out IVAW’s program to build a GI resistance movement.

Garret Rappenhagen: Bio and Testimonial

Garett Rappenhagen was a Scout Sniper with the 1st Infantry Division who served at FOB Scunion, Baquaba, Iraq from Feb. 2004 to Feb. 2005. Garett also completed a 9 month peace keeping tour in Kosovo. He lives in Colorado.

Camillo Mejia: Bio and Future of GI Resistance Testimonial

Staff Sergeant Camilo Mejia deserted the US military after fighting for five months in Iraq. He now serves as Chair of the Board of Iraq Veterans Against the War. He hopes the Winter Soldier gathering will lead to an increase in GI Resistance across the Armed Forces.

Jeff Englehardt: Testimonial and Bio

Jeff Englehart is a former US Army Specialist from Colorado. He served as a 19 Delta-Cavalry Scout for the United States Army from 2001 to 2005. During his time in the army, Jeff was deployed to Kosovo for Task Force Falcon in 2003, and then served in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom II from February 2004 to February 2005. Jeff is now an outspoken antiwar veteran and member of Iraq Veterans Against War.

Phil Aliff: Bio and Testimonial

Phil Aliff is an active duty soldier with the 10th Mountain Division stationed at Fort Drum in upstate New York. He served nearly one year in Iraq from August 2005 to July 2006, in the areas of Abu Ghraib and Fallujah, both west of Baghdad.
